How to connect PSR-E303 to the computer? (any setting required to be done on the keyboard?)

by kay
(singapore)

Hi, this is kay. Recently, i bought a usb cable to connect my keyboard PSR-E303 to the computer. However, it seems like the computer is unable to register all the notes that i play on the keyboard. Is there any setting required to be done on the keyboard?

well you should probably check the device manager in your musical program, also there are usually problems in case you use a USB cable, and or if you use it on a laptop there are frequent latency problems

If the keyboard has an aux/speaker output, take a standard 1/4"-1/8" cable and connect it from the keyboard into the line in jack on your computer's sound card.

midi to sibelius
by: Anonymous

Has anyone ever received an answer to this? I am trying to hook an older Yamaha keyboard ( PSR 220) to simply use the midi to write in sibelius. I have purchased the Yamaha midi to usb cord, the program sees the keyboard , but no setting thus far has yielded a successful test for either sibelius or Studio One. PLease let me know if any of you have found any answers. Perhaps the keyboard is just too old. I just want to speed up notation via midi. Thank you.

Yamaha PSR-330+Midi+Sibelius+iMac OSX 10.4.11
by: miamia69

I too have one, and I'm having no luck connecting my PSR-330 to Midi to Sibelius on my iMac. The Sibelius is working just fine, but the Midi connector (M-Audio Midisport Uno,version 3.4.0) isn't working. This is the Midi cable device they sold me at Sam Ash, and it doesn't work. I really need to be able to play my keyboard notes into Sibelius as printable sheet music. Any help will be appreciated. I am totally frustrated!! Thanks.

Need driver
by: Anonymous

According to the "Getting Started" dvd, you need not just USB or midi cables, but you need the driver too. I went to the Yamaha site to download it and it is not there! I think this is a really new model, but they should have all the things people would need to use it ready before they ship!

I have one too. You can try using a midi USB cable and run it through a DOW program like Reason, Cubase, Logic, Fl Studio, etc.
