Yamaha S90 volume cuts out-seems to warm up

Hey, I have an S90 purchased new ca. 2003. Within the past couple years the volume cuts out but can be fixed by changing the patch temporarily. But after a few notes it cuts out again. Seems to get better the longer it’s switched on. Any chance it’s a failing RAM battery like the old DX7?

Yamaha S90 volume cuts out-seems to warm up NEW

It is possible that the issue with your Yamaha S90 keyboard cutting out the volume is related to a failing RAM battery, as with the DX7. The RAM battery powers the keyboard's internal memory and settings, and a failing battery can cause various issues, such as losing settings or cutting out the sound.

To diagnose and repair the issue, you will need to open the keyboard and inspect the RAM battery and related components. It is recommended to refer to the manual for your keyboard or contact Yamaha customer support for detailed instructions on how to access the internal components.

If you are not comfortable with performing electronic repairs, it is recommended to consult a qualified technician or engineer for assistance. They will be able to diagnose the issue and provide the appropriate repair or replacement of the faulty components, including the RAM battery.
