If your Yamaha PSR SX700 isn't recognizing the USB drive and doesn't seem to provide power to other devices like your phone when connected, there could be several reasons for this issue. Here are some troubleshooting steps to help you resolve the problem:

1. Check the USB Drive: First, make sure that your USB drive is functioning correctly. Test it on another device like a computer to ensure it's readable and not corrupted.

2. Use a Supported Format: Ensure that the USB drive is formatted with a compatible file system. Yamaha keyboards usually support FAT16, FAT32, and exFAT file systems. Reformat your USB drive if necessary.

3. Proper File Structure: Ensure that the expansion pack files on the USB drive are in the correct folder structure and properly organized according to Yamaha's guidelines. Refer to the user manual for your PSR SX700 to determine the correct folder structure for expansion packs.

4. Update Firmware: Check if there are any firmware updates available for your Yamaha PSR SX700. Updating the firmware may resolve compatibility issues with USB drives.

5. Use a Different USB Port: Try using a different USB port on your keyboard. Sometimes, specific ports may have issues.

6. Check Power Settings: Review the power settings on your keyboard. Ensure that the USB ports are configured to provide power if applicable.

7. Test with Other USB Devices: Test your PSR SX700 with other USB devices (e.g., a different USB drive or a USB keyboard). This can help determine if the issue is specific to your USB drive or a more general problem with the keyboard's USB port.

8. Reset the Keyboard: If none of the above steps work, you can try a factory reset on your Yamaha PSR SX700. Be cautious with this step, as it will erase all your custom settings. Refer to your user manual for instructions on how to perform a factory reset.

9. Contact Yamaha Support: If the issue persists after trying these steps, it's advisable to contact Yamaha customer support or visit an authorized service center. They may be able to diagnose and repair the USB port or provide further guidance.

Remember to back up any important data on your keyboard before performing a factory reset or any other actions that may result in data loss. Always follow the manufacturer's instructions and recommendations in your user manual when troubleshooting such issues with your Yamaha PSR SX700.
