by: Alfred

Estimado Cristhian:
Abrazos.
(Translation: Did your unit come with a CD ROM Driver? Let me know through this Forum).

Style volume on auto accomp
by: Pankaj

@Mike,

Try pressing the Style button for more than a second then using the number keypad reduce the volume levels to less than 60.
Alternatively, use the Piano voice 098 to 106 or press "function" button repeatedly to select -chorus then enter -05 to turn it off.I understand you can always pres the minus and plus buttons to reset to default values.

Auto chords voice
by: Mike

Hi - Is it possible to change the voice on psr e323 auto chords? The current voice on mine is an ensemble, I think, which drowns out the piano I play with the right hand.. Thank you Mike

Thanks
by: Brian

Thank you alfred you were spot on. Yamaha, maybe it's a about time you got a copy writer who understands the beginners mindset and not make assumptions as to what they do and do not know? Possibly a more detailed manual with a index that is properly cross referenced i.e. Self help book ask one to look for 'Auto Bass Chord Section in Yamaha' and in the supplied manual it is under 'Auto Accompaniment'. Could this be supplied online, separate to a 'getting started basic manual' supplied with the equipment? Even if I had read the manual supplied I would have skipped over this knowledge, precisely because there are hugh gaps in my knowledge. Therefore a properly cross referenced index is so important to the beginners mind when following the steps to learn, it should not be so hard to locate such information, because beginners are easily put off from following through from the initial enthusiasm, due to small hiccups in information like this. Yes you sold the machine, but a bit more follow up would be ideal.

Single Finger Chords PSR E323
by: Alfred

Dear "Member": I shy away from blogs with no ID's
but you probably forgot to fill your (First)name in the appropriate box, so I'll try to help you.
I own a PSR E403, and believe the procedure is similar if not the same in your case. 1) Press the Auto Accomp. control. It will split the unit automatically for Left hand Accompaniment, at F#2. The Display should indicate that control is ON. 2) Play your Melody with your Right hand, simultaneously fingering the Left side with the finger combinations indicated in your manual. If your manual does not show the Easy ("Single Finger") combinations, get back to me through this Forum, and please identify yourself, or I may (unintentionally) glloss over the message. Good luck.

PSR E 323
by: Alfred

Dear Mike; Don't be shy to count on my help, ANY TIME. I firmly believe the Forum is precisely for such assistance. Keep up the good work. It should soon pay off, and you will be opening the door to the wonderful world of music, especially pleasant because YOU will be creating it. In my case, while having played by ear for some time, I found the PSR E 403 Manual an abomination, and have been picking up its myriad features through notes based on "Trial & Error". Kep well.

Payment of outstanding tuition fee
by: Mike

Dear Alfred
Thank you for the further assistance. Your very reasonable one penny fee is attached. I didn't have a penny so I've sent two pence. Perhaps you could give me credit for the extra penny against any future help you give me.
I've only had the keyboard for two weeks, never having played any instrument before. I feel a bit like a child learning to read - I can do it but only very slowly, too slowly to be interesting to anyone overhearing it. Still, I hope to speed up a bit with practice and try to persuade my left hand to stop trying to copy my right hand. At the moment it doesn't want to act independently!
Best wishes
Mike

Function Button Yamaha PSR E323
by: Alfred

Dear Mike: I can tell from your kind reply that your unit has controls similar to at least some (if not all) of mine. Be careful as you explore the many features which the Function Button exposes. It's only by experimenting that you will get to know them. In addition to the Function Button, there may be a small button which automatically splits the keyboard for Left and Right hand play. The split is F# on a 61 key unit. Further, if you have Synch/Intro and End buttons you can get fancy and start and end your performances with nice flourishes. NOW THAT I'VE GIVEN YOU A SHORT LESSON, YOU OWE ME A PENNY!!
Unfortunately Yamaha's Owner Manuals are unnecessarily difficult (Stupidly written) for any beginner. I'm still slogging my way through the myriad functions of my keyboard.
Be sure to help me in my endeavours to share what little I know with our fellow members, through additional posts. Thanks,

Changing auto chord volume
by: Mike

Dear Alfred
Thank you for your prompt reply. I do indeed have a function button, and on exploring it I've found it has a very large selection of choices and amendments to just about everything on the keyboard, including an option labelled Split Voice Volume which I guess is the one I need. Thank you for putting me on to it - I'll be trying it out as soon as I can, and I'll post again when I get to grips with it.
Best wishes
Mike

Balancing Volumes between Left & Right
by: Alfred

Dear Mike: I have a PSR E 403, and it MAY BE SIMILAR to your unit. If so, your keyboard may have a FUNCTION Control, and activating it should access a selection of features, including Balance. If you increase/decrease that item through Keypad numbers, you should be able to set a happy medium between the left (Accompaniment) and the right (Melody) sides of your keyboard.
It may take trial & error to do the setting, but it's not difficult. Please do the favor of posting a follow-up message if my comments help. Other members will learn from your experience. Thank you, enjoy your keyboard and good luck.
