Yamaha CVP 501 (brand new) - Noise from the speakers

by Erik
(Sweden)

I just started up my new CPV 501 for the first time and it keeps making a loud noise/hum from the speakers (loudest from the right speaker) until I turn the unit off. The sound is free from noise when listening in headphones or through AUX out. I have eliminated all wireless sources around, so thats not it. And I have no problems whatsoever with any other audio equipment (speakers/digital instruments etc.).

Any idea what it could be?

Noise from right rear woofer on my CVP309
by: Anonymous

After four years of working flawlessly, all of a sudden my CVP309 developed a loud intermittent sputtering, crackling sound coming from the lower right woofer. If I plug in my headset it disappears which tells me it has to be something in the circuit feeding that speaker. Also when I unplug the headset I hear a loud pop from that speaker. The unit is out of warranty so an independent tech is coming out to see if he can fix it. Very annoying to say the least.

Yamaha CVP 501 - Problems
by: Alfred

Dear Members: The above posts indicate what may be an inherent problem with the Yamaha CVP 501. I recommend all owners whose units are still within the warranty period to IMMEDIATELY return them to the sellers for exchange for a working unit. Make sure you try out the new unit IN THE STORE !!!

Noise sound speakers Clavinova CVP 501
by: Goetentak

I bought a new Clavinova cvp 501 last saturday and when I turned the piano on I have the same problem with both speakers. The left one harder then the right one. I'm wandering if anyone had contact with a local reseller or recieved comment from Yamaha about this problem?

Speaker noise on 501
by: Anonymous

I bought mine yesterday and am having the same problem with the speaker but only from the left one. It sounds like the static from an untuned in radio. Love everything else about the keyboard but the sound is very annoying.

CVP 501 Speaker pPoblems
by: Anonymous

Dear Erik: As your unit is probably still under warranty. take your unit post-haste to the vendor and get a new one from him/her. Don't waste time trying to find and remedy the defect.
