Turn off auto acomp for OTS - Yamaha PSR S770

I have a Yamaha PSR s770.

I'm trying to figure out the best way to set it up for shows. I don't use styles so my query is for saving the sounds.
Up till now I've been saving up to 8 sounds using the registration memory and cycling through what I need.
I've come up with another idea of using the One Touch Setting so that I can save 4 sounds per registration button and cycle through with a foot switch. This way when a song requires some quick changes, it's all there in order.
However the accomp is auto linked to come on with the OTS. The only way I've found around this is to mute the style and take the split down to the lowest note (meaning I don't have a low c sounding). Is there a better way to do this?

Or, am I going about this all wrong and is there an easier way to set this all up?
