Moving a Clavinova CVP 55 from Germany to Canada

by VickiDT
(Bonn, Germany)

Many years ago I bought a Clavinova CVP 55 in Germany (220 V, 50 cps). Now I am moving back to Canada. Will it work in Canada (110 V, 60 cps)? Will I need a new power supply? Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks. How do I open the top?
by: Anonymous

Many thanks Dick. I found a label under the Clavinova that says 220V 50-60 cps. I could not get inside to see the power supply. Is there a catch somewhere for opening the top? Or is it just stuck after 18 years of never opening. The top seems to be very firmly attached at the sides but there are hinges at the back so it must open. The instruction book does not say how to open it.
Thanks again for your help.
And thanks to whoever runs this website - a great help.

power supply
by: Anonymous

Hi Vicki,

Check the powersupply you have.
If it says something like 100-250 volts 50-60HZ it will work in Canada. If it says 220-230 volts 50 HZ only, you have to buy a new one (in Canada).
You Clavinova will work anywhere with the proper powersupply.

Hope this helps you.
Regards and happy moving.
Dick
