USB instead of floppydrive
by: Dick Rector

Hi anonymous,

BTW, THIS IS NOT A YAMAHA WEBSITE.
I never react when people have no name. On top I have no idea what you want me to answer or do.
If you have read the above comments and you want the info you can find my emailaddress on this forum. The emulator you've mentioned is about 5 times more expensive than the one I know about and it works great but it has nothing to do with the Yamaha factory.

changing floppy drive to floppy disk emulator
by: Anonymous

Hi There i've been looking for such a hardware that could fit my psr a 1000 keyboard and i found one in germany it costs approximately 245 Euro,
and found it too expensive so i hope Yamaha company could provide such product to those yamaha custommers who uses yamaha psr older models with cheaper price.

Thank you

Style creator
by: Dick Rector

Hi Edwin,

Go to psrtutorial.com and download for free 'stylecreator' from Michael Bedesem.
Making a good style is VERY difficult unless you are an excellent musician and 'creator'.

hdm for A1000
by: Anonymous

Well I have done the mod for my A1000 I install cf flash card HDM UNFLASH, 3years ago ,I have post it in Mideast form ,what you will have a floppy drive the original and the cf card you can install as much music and style so far I’m on my 15 page ,each page you can have 8 floppy and you can compress file ,I have outside Control to navigate from page to page ,you have lock or unlock the page so you don’t accidently WEP it The cf flash card you can install it but you have to open the unit, ones you install.the original installation they want you to glue it but what I did install it with screws it’s more safer so it will not detacher and burnt the circuits .(If anyone have the schematic for a1000 POST IT ON MIDDEAST i dont have the web address ) so I can take a look as far memory expander ,I think that will required some programmer so thea1000 recognse the more memory Ok I order this think from ocarina so on your own risk. http://www.2av.com.ua/indexe.htmFOR A1000 AND 1000 ARE THE SAME

Changing from floppy to usb-drive
by: Dick Rector

Hi Shahin,

I will send you the info how to change to an USB drive.
Extending the memory is NOT possible as mentioned before.
These older type of keyboards have simply NO possibility to place more memory on the main-boards.

Anyone who is interested in this USB-floppy-emulator can send his/hers emailaddress to dick.rector.spain@googlemail.com
and I will send you a zipfile with info from my own experience.
Or you can go to the vendor at:
trungtal@googlemail.com

I paid 100 US$ for the box + 20 US$ for shipment by DHL. NOT so cheap but you will never need floppies anymore.
A warning: If you replace your drive by a new floppydrive however, make sure you use/find one the same as Yamaha uses or you run the risk it will NOT work. I thought they are all standard but they are NOT when used in keyboards.

Hope this helps you
Regards
Dick

Floppy-USB-emulator
by: Dick Rector

Hi,

I have mentioned this on this forum a few times.
Upgrade the memory is NOT possible because the lack of electronics in your keyboard.
However !! Since short you can replace the old floppydrive for a new box with an USB flashdrive that holds the maximum of 100 floppies,
I have changed mine on a PSR2000 (very much the same as yours) and I am VERY happy with it.
Send me you email address and I will send you all the info and some pictures.
Hope this helps you.
