Keyboard to External Amplifier hook-up
by: Alfred

Dear Meck: Dick Rector's and Aswin's responses are excellent. Try to set your Keyboard Volume Control at a level below that of the Amplifier Volume Control. This avoids distortion of sound. You will soon determine the ideal settings you need. Post a message to let us know how you make out. It should help other Forum participants learn something new. Thanks.

Connection with an amplifier
by: Aswin

Hai Meck. It is very simple to connect your board to an amplifier. You just have to purchase a cord which has right-left audio pins (red & white) at one end and a stereo pin at the other end. You have to insert the stereo pin into the headphone jack at the back of your board and insert the audio pins to your amplifier. Then start playing. Better keep your amplifier's volume control at a constant level and manipulate the volume control of your board. Have a nice time using amplifiers with your Yamaha board.

Amplifier
by: Dick Rector

Hi Meck,

You can connect from 'headphone out'on your keyboard to 'aux in' on your amplifier.
Do this with BOTH switched off and MIND the volume-setting when you first power up!!

A good order is to switch on your keyboard FIRST and than your amplifier. It is otherwise common you hear a loud 'BLOB' from your speakers.
Reverse this action when you are finished playing.

Good luck
