How to Play Recorded Songs from External Hard Drive on Another Device?

by Grace

I purchased a Yamaha CVP 609 about 10 years ago. I love it still and use it extensively for recording songs for choirs and special numbers in our church. I record and upload onto the Yamaha at church using a USB. I have now filled the piano with recorded songs and have uploaded them to an exterior hard drive. Before I delete them off of the piano, I want to know how to play them from another device or what I need to purchase to play the songs off of this hard drive. I have speaker systems that have a USB port but they still will not play the songs as I have recorded them. I am older and not very techno savvy so I could really use some help as to what I can do.

I have talked to quite a few techno guys and no
one seems to know the answer.

How to Play Recorded Songs from External Hard Drive on Another Device?

It's great to hear that you've been enjoying your Yamaha CVP 609 for so long! To play the songs you have saved on your external hard drive, you will need to connect the hard drive to a device that is capable of playing the audio files.

If your speaker system has a USB port but is not playing the songs as you've recorded them, it's possible that the audio files are saved in a format that is not compatible with your speaker system. You can check the manual for your speaker system to see what audio formats it supports.

Alternatively, you can connect your external hard drive to a computer or laptop and play the audio files from there. Most computers and laptops have a built-in audio player, such as Windows Media Player or iTunes, that can play a variety of audio formats.

If you're not comfortable with using a computer or laptop, you can consider purchasing a standalone audio player that supports the audio format of your recordings. There are many options available on the market, ranging from small portable devices to more robust home audio systems.

I hope this information helps you play your recorded songs from your external hard drive. If you have any further questions or concerns, feel free to ask!
