Fixing Yamaha Motif XS8 jammed keys

by Bran
(Sydney)

Hi all,

I've bought used Yamaha Motif XS8 with few jammed keys and would like to share with all of you how I fixed it.

here is a surgery summary of my Motif XS8.
I've opened it and keys and their metal bars were jammed.
Don't ask me how but I assumed that those keys are supposed to be 'clicked in' first time they are making synth,so I've pulled them out of their spots, releasing them completely and than pushing downwards'click' them back in,AND it they sti nicely and gently in their spots.
But as they have sensitive contacts underneath them, and that was the place where they were jammed, possibility was to not to able to trigger the sound,BUT they DO!

Jammed were first 3 black keys and 4th and 5th whites were sticking together, like glued.

hope this will help someone.

cheers,
Bran
