Electone E-5AR Pedalboard Problem

by Nathan

I bought an Electone E-5AR organ in great condition today and everything works fine except the pedal board.

For some reason all the pedals are playing the same note.

When I detach the pedalboard and press the by hand the switches the pedals would press they all play the notes they should but as soon as I connect the pedalboard again they revert to all playing the same note again.

Additionally, when I release some of the pedals a second note is played that is lower in pitch. This also is not present when I press the switches by hand.

Has anyone else ever experienced this or does anyone have any idea how to fix it?

Bent metal contacts

Also check if any of the metal springs are bent. It could you wedge one or more in the wrong direction every time you click in the pedalboard without you being able to see it at all. A small deviation could already lead to this.

Switcharray NEW

I had this happen twice on the E70. In the silver box containing the pedal switches which you see when you remove the pedals there are plastic "fingers" which move the actual metal contacts. If these loosen themselves and get wedged somewhere they can lead to all sorts of weird behavior. If you take out that box and open it you’re bound to see what is wrong. The finger(s) can easily be reattached with some superglue.
