display inversions
by: Anonymous

Hi Danny,

The display of the keyboard does not give the correct names of all the inversions because it was not designed that way. As you must have noticed a lower to mid-range keyboard can NOT sound all the inversions you have mentioned and in many cases you have to play your accords starting on a different 'base' key than you would do on a grand-piano to be able to get the 'right' sound.
Also in many cases you can NOT play ALL inversions of all accords or at least they don't really sound totally correct. That is a limitation in some keyboards.
Your manual will tell you what you can and what not.

If you go to yamaha.person.keyboard forum (I hope I have the name correct) some weeks ago there was a discussion about this phenomena and for a few of these 'problems' they gave some really good solutions.
Mind the high-end keyboards do this better.
As Alfred already mentioned, we have nothing to do with any factory and it goes a bit too far to discuss extensive music-theory on this forum.

Anyway, have a lot of fun with your keyboard.
Regards
Dick

Questions PSR E 313
by: Alfred

Dear Danny: I am not familiar with the PSR E 313. We are not an arm of the Yamaha Corp. and our Forum discussions normally do not include the ‘Theory of Music”. As the Display is not giving the indications of the many questions you pose, I believe it was not designed to do so. To be sure, I suggest you get onto the Internet (google PSR E 313) for an Owner’s Manual and possible answers. Good luck.
