How to reset the keyboard?
by: Anonymous

I have a Yamaha YPT-200 with the same problem, ie the display lights up and everything SEEMS to work fine but no sound at all. Someone who is good with electronics took it carefully apart but no sign of any loose wires to be resoldered etc. No visible internal damage. Have tried plugging it into an amp and using headphones but no sound that way either. One poster suggested resetting it but I am not sure how to do this? Any suggestions please?

YPT 200 FIXED
by: Danny

My daughter's YPT 200 had no sound when using the Jack plug and batteries...my father in law has an interest in electronics so he took it apart and discovered underneath the Jack plug socket board that two wires had broken away from their soldered fixings so he re-soldered them and hey pesto we have a working YPT 200 key board..

no sound, no power to display panel
by: Anonymous

This YPT 200 was sitting in styorage for quite sometime. It receives power to the inside panel board via batteries or the AC adaptor but the display panel does not light up nor do the keys produce any sound.
Any suggestions?

YPT 200 "Dead" Speakers
by: Alfred

Dear Courtney, First, if you are powering your unit with an Adaptor, disconnect it and try powering with Batteries. If the sound returns, it is possible that a) the Adaptor Plug is dirty and needs a cleaning with Electronic Contact Cleaner. b) the Adaptor Jack (Aperture in the unit) is dirty or bent. Clean as mentioned, or if bent, GENTLY restore to shape with fine tweezers. c) try resetting the unit. Enter another post in the Forum if you manage to restore the sound, or if you feel further help is needed. Thanks.
