Dear George,. I am in the same problem and I still investigate how to do, aparently it's not so easy disasembling our keyboard. Let me know enithing about it.

I see there is a service manual available on e-bay.
This should probably get us the answer.

I got the service manual and was able to change the battery! Not very easy but I did succeed without too much problem.

Okay People, I just found the User Manual on the following website, you can download your own for free. You cannot change the battery yourself, you are supposed to see an authorized Yamaha dealer to do it for you.
