Yamaha Clavinova CVP-75

I have a Yamaha Clavinova CVP-75 and I would like to replace the floppy drive because it stopped working just lately. Can anybody provide me with instructions on how to remove the cover panel of CVP-75 in order to have access to the floppy disc drive?
Thanks!

Removing the lid
by: Anonymous

Underneath you will see lots of bolts and screws. There are 4 screw which release the lid, these are brass in color. As you start to unscrew you will see the lid lifting. The drive is fixed on with a few small screws - It's a simple enough job.

Make sure you use the correct fitting screw driver or else you will strip the x from the screw head.

You can also clean the perspex lid while you're at it!!

Clavinova CVP-75 - Disk driver
by: Anonymous

As I have the same problem of a floppy disk driver that has stopped work anylonger, may I ask you, once you have removed the driver what do you do? Have you found a new one to replace? If so where? Here in France they say that there is not stuff avalable anymore. I am very intrigued as I have plenty of floppy disks which are useless now. By any chance is someone aware of the possibility to convert and read those disks on a PC or a Mac (may be this is science-fiction...)?
Thank you!

Replacing the drive
by: Anonymous

You can find these drives here in the UK at Yamaha (Depending on age & model)
I own a CVP-75 - I'm waiting for the Yamaha tech guy to come today to check mine out, I have a panel that looks like something out of a sci-fi film!!! I'm hoping it's a power problem as Yamaha have quoted...wait for it....1670 pounds!!!! Jesus!!!

It's a shame, cause' it's 20 years old and no-one in their right mind is going to pay this...

It's a beautiful piano that will end up on the rubbish dump.

Hope you are proud of this Yamaha!!

Check Yamaha UK for your parts (drive)

Good luck.
