Where to find help in useing features of keyboard

I am a 75 yr old lady with a minor in piano. I've had a Yamaha DGX-230 for 2 years.

There is so much of the manual I do not understand. I have tried writing Yamaha for support in learning to use all the features. Can anyone please help me...Thank you Tommie Haile

Site to find DVD that aides in comprehension
by: Betty

Dear Tommie,

I am a 76 yr old great grandma who used to play piano. I first was given a PSR E223 to relearn
my piano skills. I discovered a piano DVD for the PSR223 called Exploring the YPT -300/200 and PSR E303/E203. It was a great help to me.

I have upgraded to the PSR E413 and have just ordered the one exploring it. The site I was very kindly directed to for my DVD is www.mclubinteractive.com

Hope this will be of some help to you. Betty, Gratefull Great Grandma

Support from Yamaha
by: Tommie

Thank you so much for your concern. After Xmas I will start with the questions. Its so hard to believe a company of this size does not have a better support system. Thanks

DGX 230 Features
by: Alfred

Dear Tommie: Dick Rector has "beaten me to the draw" with his Welcome message. He is a very active member in the Forum and if you watch for his posts you will learn a lot about keyboards, as I have. You should soon also find that there will be other members who will make positive comments re your questions. I scanned the Internet and saw a photo of your DGX. While the picture did not allow the closest examination, I believe I discerned a Dial (Menu) and Category Buttons. If I'm correct, and if in addition your unit has a FUNCTION control, activating it and watching the Display while using the Category Buttons will open a gateway to many features not clearly explained in your Owner's Manual. Experiment with the variety of possible selections and you may be surprised at the choices available. Keep well.

D...... manuals!
by: Dick Rector

Dear Tommie,

Welcome to this friendly forum!
Alfred has given the best advice, we ALL have or had the same problems with these manuals.
There are many keyboard-enthusiast-people on this forum who are more than happy to help if they can.
Post as many questions as you like and don't be shy please!
As they say: "There are no stupid questions, only stupid answers."

Regards

DGX 230
by: Alfred

Dear Tommie:Your age has nothing to do with the
difficulty of understanding the Owner's Manual.
This happens to be the case for most owners (who are honest enough to so confess).
Unfortunately a great deal is lost in translation from the original language into English. This happens with manuals from at least one other competitor, and frankly I don't believe Yamaha really gives a "D", so long as their product sells! Getting to your situation,I suggest you post a question each time you need info, and hopefully other Forum members who have the same or similar model will provide guidance. This approach may be time-consuming, but in the end you will have what you want. I happen to be going through the same agony with my keyboard's manual. My unit is a PSR series and seems to have similar features as your DGX. For starters, post a question to see if one of our fellow members (or I) can help.
