NO SOUND
by: JR

I hadn't used my YPT 400 in awhile, but when I did, it would not make any sound - the adapter is new and it turns on, but I can't get any sound. Any help would be appreciated.

Yamaha YPT 400 Defective Power Jack.
by: Alfred

Dear Chris: I believe you mean the ADAPTOR PLUG is what you wiggle for the intermittent ON & OFF
situation. You say neither the Adaptor nor its Cord is defective. How about the possibility that the Adaptor's Cord is bad internally, and showing Continuity only because of the position of the Cord when tested or moved through your wiggling??
Another point to check is for a distorted (bent) or dirty KEYBOARD JACK.
Also, try a small squirt of Electronic Contact Cleaner into the KEYBOARD JACK and insert/ withdraw the ADAPTOR PLUG several times.
Please post a follow-up comment if the above info is helpful. Thanks and good luck.
