How do I play my Yamaha Clavinova CLP100 from Sibelius 4

by Gerry O'Brien

I have tried to connect my Yamaha Clavinova CLP100 to Sibelius 4 but get no sound through the keyboard. I am using a USB Midi connector which responds to the test.

Sibelius 4 does not respond to the CLP100 as an input device either.

Thanks Gerry for this. Always a great help to others with the same sort of problem.
Glad you found it yourself and please keep on posting on this forum if you discover other things.

Get the plugs right!
by: Gerry O'Brien

I have now answered my own question. The midi in and midi out plugs on the USB audio device were incorrectly labled.

Once I swapped them over the keyboard played properly but as the range of sounds is limited on the CLP100 some voices don't play without resetting sounds.

I will experiment to see if I can match voices to the general MIDI set in Sibelius.

I have yet to try playing into a score but the input test seemed to work.
