Yamaha YPT-400 exporting user songs

I have a Yamaha YPT-400 and i want to upload the 5 user songs onto my computer. Once i've upload the CD software and connected my keyboard, everything's good until i open the program. The computer recognizes my keyboard and lists the memory folder but when i click the memory folder, nothing is in it. This is where the user tracks are supposed to be, but they don't show up. So i want to know if theres anything i have to do to the songs before i upload them or what? If anyone could help me with this problem, i would gladly appreciate it. Thanks.

how to export user-songs digitally to PC in a midi-like format
by: Dutch Customer

Sorry, we still haven't got the answer.

Like more people I'm looking for a manner to upload the digital midi-like data from keyboard to PC. Yamaha probably uses a bit extended type of midi-format for internal use within the keyboard. Recording of sound would even be possible with a microphone. We need to record the digital midi-data.

In the digital backup the midi-data for the usersongs is included.

Perhaps somebody has found software to extract the 5 usersongs from the backup-file?

Do newer keyboard models have a solution? I use a YPT 410 and face this problem still.

Please let us know how we can solve this.

uploading user songs
by: lamm

On the rear panel of my YPT-410 keyboard there is a socket labeled PHONES/OUTPUT for a thick plug (1/4"?). Since the cable that I bought for my computer audio LINE-IN input had two thin stereo mini plugs, the other end did not fit into my keyboard. I therefore also bought an adaptor plug, to put the mini plug of the cable into it. This adapter plug fits into the keyboard. In other words, combined with the adaptor plug, the cable now has a thin mini plug for the computer input and a thick plug (of the adaptor) for the keyboard output. I hope this helps.

Solved
by: lamm

I solved this problem by connecting the Phones/Output socket of my keyboard with the Line-in of my computer. I had to buy a special cable and to get somewhat familiar with recording/capturing, for which I used Audacity.

Uploading user songs to computer
by: Anonymous

Hi,

I would like to know the answer to the same question. I would like to upload user songs to the computer but cannot find it anywhere in the flash or system memory which are the only options available when I look under electronic musical instruments.

If you found your answer, could you please post it

Thanks.
