Yamaha Tyros1, no boot up

I tried to put a hard drive in and get no boot when holding the start stop button down. when its cold I get garbled messages after it warms up with the os disc in it read fine. but the floppy does spin like it should when you turn it on. high c key doesn't do anything either. without the floppy in it will boot the logo and then a blue screen saying unexpected error.

It cost $2200 for the board that the hard drive plugs into
so the only other option is another used tyros for half that price but i'd still like to try and fix this first.
