by IFWAH
(CHELTENHAM)

HEY,

MY QUESTION IS ABOUT A YAMAHA PSR-270, I HAVE RECENTLY BROUGHT THIS KEYBOARD FROM A RANDOM CAR BOOTER WHO SAID IT WAS WORKING. I HAVE SINCE INVESTED IN A NEW POWER ADAPTOR FOR IT, BUT WHEN I SWITCH THE KEYBOARD ON THE LCD DISPLAY FLASHES AND NOTHING ELSE HAPPENS OR WORKS??? PLZ COULD SOMEONE HELP ME SHED SOME LIGHT ON WHAT MAY BE WRONG AND HOW I COULD POSSIBLY FIX THIS?? THANK YOU ALL

: )

PSR 270

Dear wideboy: Your PSR 270 was released by yamaha in 1999. Even under normal circumstances, use by its original owner it COULD develop at least a few failures contributing to only the Dusplay "flash" and no further action. The fact that you used a brand new Adaptor which produced the "flash" is an indication that there is current being supplied. Now for the less encouraging info. You invested in a new Adaptor and should stop there. You have to decide if you want to spend more trying to bring the unit "up to snuff" and this could be unfeasible. Contact Yamaha or a Yamaha authorized Technician to find out what is involved and what the repair will cost. I would be surprised if you decide in favor of repair. Good luck.
