Yamaha PSR-208 what is current equivalent? My insurers trying to stitch me up

by Melvin Hurley
(Milton Keynes UK)

Hi my daughters Yamaha Keyboard PSR-208 has been damaged and the insurers loss adjuster wants to replace it with a E413. I have spoken to Yamaha in the UK and they have no specs for the PSR-208 which was a top mid range model at £400+ when bought it 10 years ago. The E413 seems much more basic and a lot less expensive at around £200. Are the loss adjusters trying to supply me an inferior product? Any views and help will be appreciated. Does anyone have specs for both please so that I can argue my case? It is now 21 October 2009 and I need to respond to the loss adjuster on Monday 26 October.

Thanks

PSR 208 vs E 413
by: Alfred

Dear Melvin: PSR 208 may be described at retrevo.com. Would guess you are right regarding features between the two units. Perhaps a negotiated monetary settlement would allow you to
a) Have the 208 repaired by Yamaha, even if you had to add a bit to the cost (for the ten years of use) b) Buy a new unit with equal or more features than were availabloe in the 208. Time pressure prevents any clearer guidance for the time being. Good luck.
