Yamaha PSR E413 downloading from CDROM

by Margaret
(Merseyside)

I have tried to transfer files from the CD-ROM using USB link and music downloader. However although the keyboard is identified in the downloader window I cannot open it to get the flash memory icon but get a message about communication problems. I've tried 2 computers one with XP and the other with Vista but same results. Yamaha driver has been installed and shown in control panel.

Problem seems to be how should the yamaha be set up to receive files but cannot find any instructions.

Same Here, sort of.....
by: Anonymous

I just bought the Yahama PSR E-413 and followed the Driver instructions to the T. When I plug in the keyboard to the laptop I will get the pop up that the keyboard is connected, but then I look for the flash drive in "MY Computer", and nothing shows up. I click on the remove device icon and it tells me its safe to remove the device. This was on my Dell E1505 running windows XP. So I tried my other laptop running Windows VISA, Loaded the driver and it says its ready to run the device. Again, plugged in the keyboard using the USB cable and it identified the keyboard, but did not show up in the "My Computer" area were all the drive are. All so installed and ran the music downloader program and it did not find the keyboard there ether!
Starting to wonder if I got a lemon.

transferring recorded performances to computer
by: Dave

According to yamaha YOU CANNOT simply transfer your recorded sessions directly to the computer, you need to purchase a "software based MIDI sequencer".
So what should have been drag and drop simplicity, has become rocket science for those who arent familiar with digital music.
Im totally disappointed with my yamaha product.
