Yamaha PSR E303 (YPT-300) connection to PC doesn't work

I have been given a USB-MIDI adaptor "Icon Midiport" as a Christmas present.

I have connected the Midi port of my YAMAHA PSR E303 YPT-300 with the usb port of my PC.

The adaptor driver seems to be cerrectly installed according to MS XP "periferal management", but Yamaha program Musicsoft Downloader is NOT able to connect to the keyboard (Check Connection keeps popping out).

Any suggestion?

same problem with PSR E323

I've got the same problem with Yamaha PSR E323 and can't find the solution anywhere on the web. The Music Downloader simply doesn't see the keyboard, although when the connection is checked by the Midi Monitor, it seems to be all right and sounds are transferred to the computer. Hope somebody at Yamaha will do something about it!

Dear Massimo: Your unit may have been acquired with an Owner's Manual, also, it MAY HAVE BEEN NECESSARY with an ACCESSORY CD ROM.
If you have both, read the manual several times to FULLY UNDERSTAND the steps needed to load the CD ROM in your computer.
