Yamaha PSR 510 power adapter?

by Matthew Schuster
(Pennsylvania)

I'm looking for a power adapter for the Yamaha PSR 510 keyboard piano. I haven't had much luck searching the net. I really like this keyboard and haven't played in a while and would rather just pick up a power adapter for something that I'm comfortable with rather than spending cash on a new one.

Thanks.

power adapter for psr-510

I use a universal power pulse adapter(3v-12v), TF1 (TelForceOne SMP-20WM) with interchangeable connectors, only attention to the strength in amperes at a voltage of 12v - should not be less than 1A.Universal power supply power is often given the power in Amperes at the lowest voltage, so you should ask or check the power supply set to 12v.Im Amperes greater power in the better-keyboard uses only needed power.Note that "+" was "in the middle" pin in Yamaha psr-510.Use universal power adapter, you can change the ending connectors, so the polarity of power ... and use of other devices if necessary.Set power to 12v,"+" polarity to center, and power more then 1A...

510 is exceptional

I stuck with the Yamaha when I upgraded from my 510.I get them now on ebay and give them as Christmas presents or anytime gifts to the musically inclined. That 510 lets you intuitively slap songs together like nobodies' business!. I recomend you be on the hunt for the PSR 740. Look it up. You'll freak-out if you still love the 510. The floppy disk drive is a HUGE step for songsters. The sound is infinitely better and the control you have will keep you greatful every day of your life!
As for the supply, any Yamaha PSR power supply will do, and you can hook up a power supply following the advice the other contributor.
Good to hear from someone who appreciates what was probably the most generous offering Yamaha ever let hit the shelves. I got mine for $500.00 bucks.Don't forget the 740!!

Adapter for Yamaha psr 510
by: Anonymous

I'm using an adapter that is actually rated at 9v output 500mA - outside + inside. But when I put a meter to it I measured an output of 14.2 v DC. It seems to work great with the key board. I guess I'm saying to not worry so much about the actual brand of adapter. It just needs to be the right polarity and around a 12v approx 500mA (to 1.0A according to another commenter) The multi-setting adapters are available everywhere and they are only about 10 - 15 dollars, this could give you a few choices to try. Have fun. I hope this helps.
