Yamaha P-85 "on" button is suddenly not working

by Liz
(Florida)

After a few months of light use, our Yamaha P-85 "on" button has stopped working. The light blinks and fades away within a second or two when you touch the button. So, we can't use it all. Has this happened to anyone else?

P-85 no longer powers on
by: Anonymous

Yes.... mine quit working and now the light doesnt come on at all.... after owning 6 months.
I called the where I bought it and I have the warranty...they told me to google Yamaha for an RA#.... wow, tried that to no avail. I may be up the creek without a paddle.

On/off always on
by: Jonathan

The on/off button on my P85 has just failed after about 2 wks, but in my case it is always ON and cannot be turned off. This is annoying rather than a major problem since I can turn it off by unplugging, but it doesn't inspire much confidence in the durability of the rest of the system. I may decide to send it back to the supplier for replacement, but it's a lot of hassle to arrange a courier, etc.

on/off button problem resolved
by: Liz

The problem for us ended up being the power cord which was replaced by Yamaha as we were still under warranty. The on/off button was fine. We felt pretty silly.
