Yamaha P-85 makes noise when volume turned off

by pesch
(Minneapolis, MN)

I don't know if this is my unit or all units. But plug headphones into your p85 and turn the volume all the way down. When you play the keyboard there is a faint distorted sound produced based on the key pressed. The reason it bothers me is that I can hear it mixed in with the normal sound when sustained notes are played.

Just trying to determine if I need to contact Yamaha.

Thanks

Extraneous Sound P 85
by: Alfred

Dear Pesch: Your unit is relatively new (Yamaha release 2007). Under the circumstances it would be a wise decision to send it into Yamaha for repair so that you will be able to continue enjoy playing it. The problem you are describing warrants professional service. Good luck
