Yamaha P-200 Sound Cutting Out

Hi, I've had my P-200 for a number of years now, but have noticed a gradual fading out of the sound from one side of the stereo field. Now it's gone altogether. I tried cleaning the jacks with rubbing alcohol, but didn't work.

In talking to someone, they suggested an amplifier. Has any one else run into this type of problem?

Being an electrician, I could probably replace an amp with confidence.

Any thoughts?
