Yamaha MOTIF - Storing patches after power down

Hi there - I am successfully storing edited presets in Perform mode (on the Yamaha MOTIF), but when I turn the power off and then back on again, all is lost and it reverts to factory presets. What do I need to do to keep my edited patches?
