Yamaha Motif ES7 Review

In my last review I talked about the Yamaha Motif ES6 keyboard. Well if you read that review you should know how I feel about the Motif ES. Actually, the Yamaha MOTIF ES 7 is basically the same keyboard but with more keys.

While the Motif ES6 has 61 keys, this one has a total of 76. So if 61 keys are not enough, but you don't need as many as 88, the Yamaha MOTIF ES7 may be just what you need.

The Yamaha MOTIF ES 7 costs as much as 2400 bucks, pretty high compared to the ES6 which costs 1700 bucks. But frankly, I don't think the price would deter me at all.

Let's talk about the features of this Yamaha synthesizer for a while. They include 61 keys, 175MB wave ROM, 1,859 waveforms, 1,024 voices, 65 drum kits, 8 types of mastering effects, 20 reverb types, 49 chorus/delay types, 128 note polyphony,

a 5-band master equalizer, newly developed synth engine, an Advanced Phrase Factory arpeggiator, and a Mega Voice system for samples. Pretty impressive! I could go on and on talking about this top of the line instrument but I'll leave that to the Yamaha Corporation.

Allow me to talk about my personal impressions. Like the Motif ES6, I love the Yamaha MOTIF ES 7 music production synthesizer. If you're looking for a powerhouse in the studio as well as live performance, this is it. The sounds and features will really blow your mind. I really like the piano sounds in particular. The rhodes and leads are great as well. I compared the MOTIF to the Triton Extreme 88 and the Fantom and no matter what anyone says, I think the MOTIF ES beats them any day. With so many great sounds, I can't imagine being bored ever.

No matter what type of music you play, this keyboard will not disappoint. I like the fact that it has so many contemporary sounds. It is able to handle today's music, particularly Hip Hop.

If you're looking for a great music production synthesizer and you've got the money, don't hesitate. Buy the Yamaha MOTIF ES7. Sure you would like to compare it to other keyboards in its class, but I don't think you can go wrong with this keyboard. An incredible investment!
