Yamaha motif es7 simultaneous midi channels

Can i play 16 patches all at once, all on seperate midi channels,selecting and deselecting patches at will whilst playing live !

Hi Clive,

Yes you can but there is a BUT.
Recording to midi channels is 'limited' to max 16 channels on whatever midi-instrument that is supporting so many channels.
The real limitation however can be how many channels you are using at the same time POLYPHONE, that is, sounding at the same time. If you use all 16 channels together it is possible you get 'drop outs' or 'time'-delays in certain instruments. Very little delays they are but disturbing enough. As an example, the drums can be just a bit off beat.

Thank's Dick,however i don't even want to record,just physically play all 16 patches at once if necessery but more realistically maybe 6 patches at any one time.If you can tell me how to achieve that then I can use my Motif es7 in live gigs instead of the Roland.
