Yamaha Motif es6 effects problem

So I turned my motif on and loaded up a song I had been working on when all of a sudden every channel had some crazy effects on it. I figure there has to be some master effect switch or some global setting that flipped but when I bought my motif it didn't have a manual. I tried changing to another song and same effects are on all the songs. When i switched to performance mode the effects finally stopped. If anyone has any information that could help me fix this problem it would be much appreciated. Can some one please help me solve this annoying effects problem?
