Yamaha Keyboards in General

by Alfred
(Middle Village, NY)

Many postings on this Forum are related to failure of Keyboard LCD Displays and Key Underlay Pads. These components are frequently not repairable, making Yamaha the sole supplier if and when they are current stock items. They are expensive and most certainly part of Yamaha’s lucrative keyboard parts business.

However, one would think that Yamaha’s vast technological resources should be able to come up with quality Displays and Underlay Pads which hold up better with time and use.

It should not be difficult for Yamaha to weigh their (profit) charges for replacements as opposed to their reputation as a quality manufacturer of Keyboards. They could easily fold in the increased cost of keyboard production into MSRP and probably improve their image.
