Yamaha DGX-520 Review

by Neel Chowdhury
(Kolkata,West Bengal,India)

The Yamaha DGX-520 is a great keyboard.I would rate the sound quality 9/10.The DGX-520 is for everyone - from just starters to pros. For $900 or even less there is no better keyboard you can opt for. It has a color display capable of displaying Score(notation) and lyrics. It comes with it's own stand which makes it look gorgeous as well as a sustain pedal. If you are going to use sustain through out the song you can enable the sustain option too.The user interface is good and the six track on-board sequencer works like a charm. When you've finished recording you can save it as MIDI on a USB flash memory / those who want to record the actual beautiful sound of the keyboard can use a Phones out (1/8" mono - goes inside the keyboard) to stereo (goes inside the sound card of your PC) cable to record audio. There are innumerable voices and styles and you will never fall short of them ! Or if you are a pianist, you can reset the whole keyboard into a Live! Piano with the touch of a button. The Yamaha Educational Suite is great. It helps you to learn to play any song - even songs that have been transferred by Pen Drive in MIDI format. Just select the song, select Left Hand or Right hand and learn! Many learners settle for Yamaha keyboards for the Educational Suite. And today I declare that my next purchase of a keyboard will also be an Yamaha. My personal comment - "Yamaha Rocks and so does DGX-520!"
