Why is there no sound transferred when I run a line between the eraphone out let of the Yamaha dgx-202 and the mic port of my Toshiba laptop running XP?
Dear "Anonymous": Just a thought. Have you tested the patch cord (for continuity) between your DG and the laptop? Please give at least your first name when postting problems. Your questions will attract more responses. Good luck.

Earphone outlet by: Sundarachari
Hi
I too faced the same problem. I use DGX 620 and when I tried to connect from its headphone point to my desktop, no audio data was carried also keyboard does not respond. I do not have headphones, so i could not ascertain whether only headphones could be used. I consulted the manual which says that audio data can be transferred only through MIDI or USB flash drive and not from headphone outlet. That is kind of strange. This was possible in my SY55 Yamaha. I am yet to fully explore that. Will post if i get some positive results.

Earphone out to computer. by: Dick Rector
Hi there,
It is very rare I answer questions to people with NO-NAME but stil.....
1. Headphone or LINE OUT out should NOT be connected to microphone in but to LINE in.
2. To record sound on your computer from a keyboard in WAV or MP3 you need a software program like (free to download) AUDACITY.
After you have recorded and SAVED your file(s) you can burn it to a CD or copy it on a flash-drive or to any player who supports the format you have recorded in.
