Yamaha CVP-8 no sound & no light

by Shannan
(Lakeland, FL)

Can the CVP-8 blow a fuse? All of a sudden we are not getting any lights or sound when we try to play. It makes some sort of noise when it is turned on, but that is it. Is there anything else I can try?

CVP 8 - No light or Sound
by: Alfred

Dear Shannan: You have not described what sort of "noise" you get from your Unit, and I am not familiar with your keyboard to know if there is an internal Fuse.
If you are using a Power Adaptor to energize your Unit, try another wall outlet. If you get the same result, the problem could be with the Adaptor.
One other point to check is the Input Jack where the Adaptor is plugged in. Sometimes this Jack is loose(bent out of shape, or pulled away from the nut and washer which secures it from the inside).
These are only preliminary steps you can take. There are (and I hope not) many other glitches involving the electronic circuit which can be causing you the problem. Good Luck.
