Yamaha Clavinova CLP 340 or CLP 370

by Shibaji
(Bangalore, India)

Hello

Just a bit confused. Planning to get either CLP 340 or CLP 370. Could you guide me on choosing one? CLP 370 costs way more than 340. However, the specs do not show much difference. Then, in what aspect 370 outperforms 340? How much is the difference in authenticity of the Piano sound in both?

What about CVP 403? Is the Piano sound worse than CLP 340/370?

Thanks in advance!

Regards
Shibaji

what to buy
by: Dick Rector

Hi Shibaji,

As we are not related to Yamaha or any other brand it is difficult to advice what to get.
It is a matter of personal taste and of course budget and availability. Obvious you have studied the details but the best thing, however difficult sometimes, is to find a dealer with both (or more) models in stock.
You can hear for yourself what suits you ears best.
You pay for what you get and there is a reason for the sometimes big price-differences otherwise every keyboard would be the same.

Happy hunting so to speak and enjoy whatever keyboard you get.

Yamaha Clavinova CLP 340 and 370 difference
by: Anonymous

Hello - I just went through the same decision making process. What I found was that the 370 has a metal base at the bottom which gives a bigger base sound. Also the 370 I looked at was a "real wood" model, which looked just like the other 340. I decided the difference was not worth the extra money for my purposes. The action and other settings were pretty much the same. There is a 380 out (twice the price) which has an even better action according to the info i saw, but for my purposes, I chose the 340......good luck
