What does 64 note Polyphony mean?

What exactly does 64 "note" polyphony mean? Can I press down 64 keys at the same time without any being dropped?

Or, can I, for example, hold down the sustain pedal, and do a 64 key glissando without any notes being dropped?

Does stereo recording affect this in any way?

About poly phony......
by: Joshy A N

hi
Polyphony means the maximum no of notes that can be played as it is without any drop in notes at a point of time.....But as u said for live playing it won,t be a problem for a 64 note polyphony key board or electric piano...but this interferes in synthesising ....
