What do you use to hook up to garage band?

I honestly don't know what kind of yamaha keyboard I have, but on the left side it has three options for a host.
I would like to choose "MAC" so that I can hook it up to my macbook and record my original music, but I don't know where or what kind of cord or cable to purchase in order to do that...
help me please?

How to connect keyboard to a Mac

Simple;

If there is a Midi in/out connector on the keyboard that's all you need. Buy a 'Midi to USB' cable ($5-15). Once you plug it into the Midi out of the keyboard and USB in on your Mac you just need to go to Preferences & select 'Sound'. It should default to 'built-in audio' but you should check it.

Now open Garageband and open a 'Real Instrument' track & you should see your keyboard signal. Garageband has lots of sounds to choose from that will make an inexpensive keyboard sound like a studio instrument...
