Using Midi ports on Yamaha YPT-220 keyboard
I have a Yamaha YPT-220 keyboard that I would like to hook to my pc to record songs that I will then add to a video. I bought a Midi to USB cable that comes with drivers that install onto the computer automatically. When I plug it all in, I see the device installed. I have downloaded Anvil's free recording software and Audacity. I can't seem to figure out how to record with either program. I have a mac with garage band (the midi to usb is supposed to be compatible with both mac and pc) but I couldn't get the mac to recognize it. Do I have to buy software or am I skipping a step?
