Using midi files from laptop thru PSR 700 with VanBasco.

Good day please can you assist me i want to use midi files from a laptop thru a PSR 700 KEYBOARD with a program called VanBasco and when i do, the sounds are not correct for example lets say the base is playd by a piano and so on is there anny way i can rectify that i really like the sound of the yamaha, when using stiffys with the keyboard there are no problems but i want to move away from stiffys and play the midi files from the laptop. For i am using midi karaoke files and ther for found the program VanBasco very nice i just dont know how to rectify the problem with the incorect sounds. PLEASE SEE IF YOU CAN HELP
