Using midi files (chords only) to drive styles?

by Chuck Ervin
(26405)

Can I make a midi file with only chords and then use that to drive a style accompaniment?

It seems to me that there ought to be someway a midi file could take the place fingering a chord. I understand there are many ways to finger a chord, but I am a saxophone player and would like to use styles when
I perform.

Thanks

Chuck Ervin
