Using a volume pedal to control the volume of a second voice, when using dual voice function.

by Grace Higgins
(Leeds, UK)

I have a Yamaha DGX 500 and am performing a gig in which I need to be able to use both a string sound on top of a Piano sound. I know there is a dual voice function where you can have both these voices mixed, however I am looking to be able to control when the strings come in and out, I don't want a constant dual sound, only at certain points. I ahve been told I can do this with a MIDI volume foot switch. Is this possible and compatible with my keyboard? If so what do I need to buy and where to I plug in etc? Thanks very much!! Would appreciate a reply ASAP

Cheers!
