Sustain pedal no longer sustaining.

by Caroline

I got the P60 a few years ago. After not using it for a year while away at school, the sustain pedal isn't working. Occasionally, when it was first turned on, the whole keyboard was in sustain until the pedal was depressed. Now the pedal isn't causing any changes. Should I replace the pedal or try to fix it somehow?

Sustain Pedal
by: Alfred

Dear Caroline: Before rushing out to buy a new pedal, do the following:
a) Disconnect the keyboard (Turn keyboard Button OFF if battery-powered,and/or take Adaptor off the wall Outlet). b) Insert the pedal's plug into the keyboard BEFORE turning on the power. c)DO NOT PRESS DOWN on the pedal while doing this. d) Turn on the power. If the above works, you were obtaining a "reversed Polarity" problem. Follow my suggestion EVERY TIME you use the Sustain Pedal. Post a Blog if successful so I can "spread the word" Good luck.
