sustain pedal does not work

Why does my sustain pedal not work anymore. it not like when it works in reverse and you just cut it off and back on. it do not work anymore, i even went out and brought a new pedle thinking that was it. DGX-505

Dear Richard: What I believe is happening. is your keyboard is recognizing a "Reversed Polarity". Do the following - Try inserting the Plug of the Pedal into the keyboard BEFORE TURNING ON THE POWER. DO NOT PRESS THE PEDAL WHILE TURNING THE POWER ON.
When you follow this procedure you AUTOMATICALLY ENSURE CORRECT STNDARD PRACTICE. Please post a comment if my sugAgestion helps. Thanks and good luck.
