sharp "E" on Yamaha psr-640 and psr-740

by james lee
(Greenville South Carolina USA)

I have a psr-640 and a psr-740 workstation. The second octave "e" note is slightly sharp on both. If you tune the pitch using the utility (by -10 cents or -10/100 of a semitone)the second octave "e" will be correct, however all other octaves will be flat by - 10. Is this something that can be corrected and how would you go about correcting the problem.

note:all other notes are standard 440.

thanks
james

Dear James: Here's a suggestion. Initialize both your units. This action may correct the Pitch differencesa you have detected. Please post a follow-up message if my suggestion works. Thank you. Good luck.

PSR 640 & PSR 740

Dear Andikacellular: If I interpret your question correctly, you are looking for either the Rubber Underlay Pads located beneath the keys, or possibly a method of repairing the Nipples or Cones sometimes found on the Underlay Pads. If it is the whole Underlay Pad, I believe they can be purchased from your area Yamaha organization. If you are looking for a repair kit for the Nipples/Cones, you can order it from
oaktreevintagesales.com
If you post another message in this Forum, I suggest you enter it wtih the Comment Title Underlay Pads. Hope this helps you.
