replacing floppy drive

I bought a used dgx500 and the floppy drive does not work and I would to replace it. will any floppy work or does yamaha have a special drive like some other manufactors do?

Danny,

Alps, Mitsubishi and Panasonic are mainly used by Yamaha. Other drives might work but might NOT as they are using a different protocol to communicate with the keyboard.
You can also replace the drive with a USB-floppy-emulator as I did and a lot other people.
It is a bit more expensive but you never need floppies anymore.
