Replacement headphone box for Clavinova lab

by Bill Niemi
(Cedar Rapids, Iowa)

Hi...

We have an older Clavinova lab that has a junction box at each keyboard. One of them has failed.

I don't have the part number in front of me (darn it). It's got a 1/8th inch jack for the mic, a 1/4" jack for the headphone, a 7 pin din connector that goes back to the lab, a momentary switch, and a cord hanging out of it with a 1/4" stereo plug on it that plugs into the headphone jack on the keyboard.

Does anybody have these and if so, are they expensive? Somebody just moved our lab around over the summer and ripped the 7 pin din connector apart.

I found the information
by: Bill Niemi

The model number of the box is:

Yamaha MLA-100

These are still available new from the factory with a suggested retail price of $68 US.

You HAVE to order them through a Yamaha piano dealer. We have one in Cedar Rapids, so I got this done in 2 phone calls.

On a related topic, the headsets for these are still available too.

Good luck to everyone, and don't forget to practice!

Bill
