Registration Memory - Yamaha PSR 420

I have a psr 420, which is the same as the 320. I have figured out after lots of tries (I downloaded the manual) and I have managed to register the 8 banks. I cannot find any way to add tunes to the banks. Each one is supposed to store 4 for a total of 32. The manual does not indicate in any way how you get those other 3 numbers in. The manual has skimpy instructions. Any help out there ?
